Notes from class today
Here is the list of notes I took when we were creating the current site map for the Speakaboos.com site in class. These are the types of issues you should be thinking about when creating your sitemap.
Potential changes:
Sound on/off icon or link
Home button more obvious
get rid of coming soon sections if the site is up for more than a few months
no visual indication of where I am in the navigation
better categorization and naming based on the types of content found in the section
Buy track button forces user to log in (might lose people here)
No need for category sorting on story pages since we will create a visual way of identifying where the user is
Is sorting by album necessary if you already know you're in the Arthur section

Bring drafts of your Sitemap to class tomorrow
Hey,
Please bring a draft of you sitemaps to class tomorrow so we can discuss your progress so far together as a group. It would be great if you can have hard copies that we can post on the wall and critique as a group. If you can't get it printed then bring it so you can show it on the computer.
Also, just a reminder that your schedules are due tomorrow as well.
Happy President's Day

Reminder to send your assignments to me digitally
Hey,
Most of you turned in your hard copy of the assignment, which was due today. However, only 7 of you sent me digital copies. If you turned in your assignment in class its fine and its on time, but I'd like to keep digital copies of you assignments so that I can keep a copy even when I return your marked up copy back to you with feedback. This way I can keep track of your progress throughout the semester.
I'll post our guest lecturer Perry Chan's presentation to the class blog later this week along with photos from today's exercise.
Feel free to post any questions or issues you want to discuss to the blog, that is what its here for.
